Guess the Line (guesstheline.app) stores what it needs to sign you in and keep your calls.

• Sign in with Google: the name, email address and profile image URL Google returns, and the account ID Google issues.
• Sign in by email link: your email address and a one-time sign-in token.
• Either way: a session record in our database, a session cookie in your browser, and the time you were last active.
• The picks you save, the hit count you predict, and the pools you belong to.

Picks you have not saved yet stay in your own browser and never reach us.

Your display name is the name Google gave us, or the part of your email address before the @ if we do not have one. Pool members see that name.

Until results settle, a pool page shows only whether each member has saved picks, never which picks. Once they do, the pool standings show each member’s name, rank and hit total. Your team-by-team picks are never listed on a pool page. They appear in full on your share page, and anyone holding that link can open it at any time, before the lock included. The link is yours to hand out, so share it only when you want the calls seen.

There is no advertising here and no third-party analytics. Nothing we store is sold.

We do count anonymous usage events ourselves, first party: which pages were opened and which buttons were clicked, with the page address (without anything after the ?), the time, and your account ID if you are signed in. No IP address, no browser or device details, and nothing sent to anyone else.

The site runs on Vercel. The database is Postgres on Neon. Sign-in emails go out through Resend. Google provides Google sign-in. These providers process your data to run the service, and for nothing else.

This version has no delete button. Ask us and we will delete your account, your picks and your pool memberships. Signing out only clears the session cookie; your account stays.

Guess the Line is for people 13 or older.

Any change to this policy is posted on this page, with the date below updated.
